Zambian Perspectives - Photographic Exhibition 2011
The event is a fundraiser in aid of Zambian youth projects.
The images are part of collection taken by Sheila McArdle, Research Fellow, based at the the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre, for a Ph.D. study. Research participant quotes accompany each of the images to provide insights into the daily lives of Zambians, from both youth and adult perspectives. The study was progressed under the umbrella of the UNESCO Chair in Children, Youth and Civic engagement held by Professor Pat Dolan. Utilising a participatory approach the study set out to consider gender as a factor impacting upon young people's participation in youth civic engagement activities in Zambia.
The exhibition may appeal to a variety of interests, community development, gender studies, child and youth studies, family studies, the Arts, photography, international NGO's, or to those interested in supporting the sustainability of projects in Zambia.
